![]() The thing about those three Tetris games I mentioned above is that they’re all uniquely their own thing. There are pieces of Tetris’ past that, if gathered together, could make for the ultimate Tetris game. These are great, they really are, but I believe we can do better. Then there’s Tetris 99, which is absurdly fun. Puyo Puyo Tetris is an incredibly solid and feature-filled game, and it’s available on multiple platforms. I didn’t play Tetris Effect, but I’m told it’s beyond amazing. Maybe you accumulate it only by landing a side-B tetrimino projectile that does 0 damage but stacks this slow? Then landing 3-4 in a row could set you up for a 'line clear' (kill) by running up and using down-smash, which should be his most powerful move (love your design for it.We seem to be in something of a golden age for Tetris games. That might just feel too awful to play against, though, tbh. So it'd basically be like inkling ink but instead if amplifying damage, it accumulated a slow. Perhaps your continuous attacks stack up grey lines on their health, which slow them down or something, but successful damage dealt by them reduces the amount of grey lines? Lastly, I think his kit should somehow pay homage to the 'sending grey lines' method of attack in Tetris 99 and other games. It'd make sense - that piece is used to bust 4 lines at once. Or, maybe it could be his side-B, and be a shield breaker. That's the most powerful Tetris technique, after all.Īlso, I feel like Fsmash could just be extending a long blue piece (the line) like a sword. Okay, this is incredible, and I commend your work. I suppose one way to do it is for XL stages just have a designated zone that it teleports players too and locks them in, possibly adding platforms so you don't have a situation where Little Mac is screwed when a Tetris comes by virtue of not possibly being able to reach the top row. This would work decently well on Battlefield, but not Palutena's Temple where one block could be a huge chunk of the stage. On the other hand, there's also the issue of how you scale this to different stage sizes. My best solution is to maybe make the grid much smaller than standard Tetris, possibly 5x5 making it as small as possible but still no matter what tetromino comes down the opponent has somewhere that's safe. Speed things up too much and it becomes impossible for the Tetris player to stack anything. My only remaining issue is that at standard Tetris speed even one line would take ages in Smash time and the opponent would see it coming a mile away. Your idea still has the tetris minigame feel while keeping things interactive for both players. I'm guessing I'm the person below and I have to say your idea is way better than mine of copying the PK kids. ![]() Galint Gaming - Organizers of Battle of BC 5Ĭody - Top modern Brawl player, champion of Apex 2022Īaron - Top Ultimate Diddy Kong for Moist EsportsĪpolloKage - Current best Snake main in UltimateĬosmos - Top Aegis main, champion of Shine 2022įor a full list, click here!
